Dear APABI members:
We’re very excited for the APABI conference which is scheduled for Mid-September in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – just three months from now – hosted by the Banking and Finance Academy of Mongolia. The theme will be “Reshaping the Banking Sector in the Post-Pandemic Era.” I believe that banking in every member country has undergone deep changes over the past two and half years, and this conference will be an opportunity for international exchange, allowing us to learn important lessons from each other’s experiences.
Fittingly, the conference will be held in a hybrid physical-virtual format. The exact dates have yet to be determined; we will make an announcement as soon as they are. You can also find a preview of the conference written by BFA below.
Meanwhile, the biggest economic news item over the past several months is the emergence of inflation around the world. A gap is appearing between Western and Asian monetary policy which promises to have implications around the region. The situation will warrant continued attention by bankers across Asia.
I look forward to seeing as many members as possible in September! As always, please feel free to contact TABF or MFA for any concerns or ideas as our plans get closer.
Sincerely, Hank C.C. Huang
President, Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) |
